Montreal-based Centre for Sustainable Development will offer resolutions to environmental issues
NEW YORK—Alcoa’s Canadian Global Primary Products Operations will contribute $3 million over five years for the Centre for Sustainable Development, a 6,000 square-meter, five-story building, located in the heart of Montreal’s entertainment district that will house the offices of several social advocacy groups.
A portion of this contribution has been earmarked for an information center that will be open to the public. The center will show visitors how to discover concrete actions necessary to resolve major environmental issues.
The information center will also offer materials on recycling and energy efficiency programs and on renovation assistance programs, eco-friendly horticulture, environmental regulations, educational initiatives, awareness and mobilization.
