Canada's largest communications company announces senior executive appointments

MONTREAL – BCE Inc. has promoted its senior executive for regulatory affairs and corporate development to the position of chief operating officer.

In his new position, Mirko Bibic will add responsibility for Bell Canada’s residential and small business unit, including home phone and internet services, as well as its Bell Mobility wireless unit and large business customer business.

Wade Oosterman, who had held similar responsibilities as group president of Bell Canada and BCE, has been appointed vice-chair for both companies.

Oosterman will also continue to lead Bell Media as group president, with Bell Media president Randy Lennox continuing to report to him.

Bibic, who has led BCE’s legal and regulatory strategy, played a key role in BCE’s acquisitions of Astral Media and Manitoba Telecom Services Inc.
