$155.4M in government funding flowed to the cleantech sector in May and June

Canadian businesses and organizations in the cleantech sector secured $155.4M in government grants, contributions and incentives from federal and provincial programs in May and June 2018, according to new data from Fundingportal, a leading funding services and solutions provider.

Top Recipients Include:

• MEG Energy Corp. in Calgary, AB receives $10M from the ERA Oil Sands Innovation Challenge to develop solutions that reduce GHG emissions associated with bitumen production (Source). The company also received $10M from the SD Tech Fund (Source).
• D-Wave Systems Inc. in Burnaby, BC secures $10M from the SD Tech Fund to develop energy-efficient quantum computing systems (Source).
• The New Brunswick Energy Solutions Corporation receives $10M from the provincial government to develop a nuclear research cluster (Source).
