Investment expected to create 18 jobs at Eastern Ontario cable maker
BROCKVILLE, Ont.—An Ontario cable manufacturer with a pair of production sites in Brockville, Ont. as well as one in nearby Prescott, Ont. is looking to scale up.
Northern Cables, which makes copper, aluminum and low-voltage cables for a range of industries, is planning an $8.2 million expansion project that will add new equipment to its Prescott site and expand one of its two Brockville facilities.
Using an $820,000 contribution from the government of Ontario’s Eastern Ontario Development Fund in addition to private funds, the manufacturer will increase its production as it continues to grow its sales throughout North America and abroad.
The expansion project will create 18 new jobs at the company.
Northern Cables expects to complete the work by 2020.
