20-year-old from Wapella, Sask., died after being struck by weight arm of pump jack in Manitoba

VIRDEN, Man.—A worker has been killed at an oil well work site in Manitoba.

Local RCMP say a crew was working at the site in the Rural Municipality of Pipestone Sept. 30 when a worker was struck by the weight arm of a pump jack.

The 20-year-old from Wapella, Sask., was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health is assisting with the investigation.
