Pump determines optimal diaphragm rod velocity
The AirVantage double diaphragm pump is made by Versa-Matic, a Mansfield, Ohio manufacturer of air-operated double diaphragm pumps.
The pump adjusts as process conditions change to maintain constant flow without manual operation or adjustment.
It works by reducing the amount of air volume needed per diaphragm stroke. The diaphragm operates at full stroke with reduced air volume (SCFM) while sustaining stroke rate and fluid flow.
The pump uses existing air flow to provide its own electricity to the device.
According to the company, AirVantage can reduce SCFM by 50 percent, saving $3,000 a year.
It installs like traditional AODD pumps.
Versa-Matic’s products are sold in Canada through York Fluid Controls Ltd., a diaphragm pump distributor.
