MONTREAL—SNC-Lavalin has been awarded a contract from Meydan Group LLC to design and deliver three electrical substations in Dubai, UAE.

The substations will provide electrical infrastructure for the Meydan One mixed-use real estate development, a community that will be home to 83,000 people.

The contract is valued at approximately $90 million.

SNC-Lavalin will provide three two-storey buildings, all electrical equipment and electro-mechanical works for the substations.

The substations are expected to be energized in late 2019.

“SNC-Lavalin has considerable experience in delivering substations, with over 2,500 completed around the world over the last 100 years, and we’re proud to be using that experience to successfully and safely deliver this project,” said Marie-Claude Dumas, president, Clean Power, SNC-Lavalin.
