MONTREAL—Canadian engineering and construction company WSP Global Inc. has reached an agreement to buy a Norwegian building consulting firm based in Oslo.

The Montreal-headquartered company did not disclose the financial terms of the deal, but said it would pay for UnionConsult Gruppen AS using its available cash and funds from its credit facilities.

“The addition of UnionConsult to the WSP team strengthens our market share in the building sectors, while expanding our engineering and consulting services across the country”, said Knut Jonny Johansen, the managing director of the company’s Norway operations.

UnionConsult employs about 160 workers across nine Norwegian offices. Focussing on the building sector, it provides design and technical advisory services mainly for mechanical, electrical and plumbing work. WSP said the firm has grown aggressively over the past three years.
