Sugarland, Texas: Everything’s bigger in Texas, at least according to new research that says the state is leading all others with at least $26 billion worth of construction for industrial projects.

The Lone Star state comes in first on the Top 10 States for Industrial Construction, which is compiled by Industrial Info Resources.

With 184 projects underway, Texas’ industrial construction activity is nearly double that of second-place California, which has 98 projects valued at $9 billion.

A good chunk of Texas’ action is taking place in Port Arthur, where Motiva Enterprises LLC and Total Petrochemicals USA Inc. are building delayed cooker units on their refineries. Fluor Corp. is also performing engineering and construction services for Total.
