New enclosures to offer protection for industrial applications in outdoor environments.

Rittal has now completed its AX range of compact enclosures.

MISSISSAUGA — Rittal is replacing its previous KS series enclosures with new fibreglass enclosures AX. The AX fibreglass enclosures protect electrical components even in very harsh environments, such as the outdoors. The development is based on Rittal’s technology for sheet steel and stainless-steel enclosures, which can be used to simplify and speed up manufacturing processes in panel building and switchgear manufacturing. Now, fibreglass enclosures also feature this system technology. The result is an enclosure technology permitting simplification, speed and design freedom while fulfilling the preconditions for maximum safety and robustness.

The new enclosures are more suited for outdoor use due to a fibreglass that is reinforced with glass fibres and which has a seven times higher UV resistance. For this reason, they have a UL F1 outdoor rating (UL 746C).

The enclosures incorporate digital equipment and fit ideally into the digital value chain of panel builders and switchgear manufacturers. Alongside the 3D data and the Rittal Configuration System, the presence of features such as QR codes on all the panels to be machined makes it easier to integrate them into the production workflow.

With the fibreglass enclosure AX, Rittal is transforming a fibreglass housing into an enclosures system with customizable fitting options to match a variety of environments in industrial use.
