MONTREAL — AtkinsRéalis, a professional services and project management company, welcomes Nordion, a Sotera Health company, as a new ambassador for the Canadians for CANDU campaign.

The Canadians for CANDU campaign, launched on February 28, 2024, promotes the deployment of CANDU nuclear technology at home and abroad in support of Canadian and global efforts to reach net-zero emissions.

“I would like to thank Nordion for their leadership in Canada’s world-class nuclear sector, and their support for CANDU technology,” said Joe St. Julian, President, Nuclear, AtkinsRéalis.

“This growing movement can position Canada as a global clean energy champion while promoting a domestic nuclear industry that Canadians can be proud of.”

“Nordion is proud to support Canadians for CANDU, a powerful campaign with the goal of uniting industry leaders and members of our local communities in support of CANDU technology. This Canadian technology supports clean energy and plays a vital role in the supply chain for radioisotope production,” said Riaz Bandali, president of Nordion.

“Nordion counts on our nuclear energy partners for the generation of Cobalt-60, a vital isotope for medical device sterilization and cancer treatment.”
