MISSISSAUGA — Cymat, along with design partner Tesseract Structural Innovations, has joined the Automotive Parts Manufacturing Association’s new zero-emission concept vehicle initiative – Project Arrow.

Cymat and Tesseract will collaborate to design and supply components of the new electric vehicle. The EV will incorporate crash components from Tesseract which have already integrated within them Cymat’s light-weight SmartMetalTM aluminum foam. Both companies will focus their designs for the battery enclosures, doors, front and rear crash systems of the EV.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Cymat to showcase its innovative material together with Tesseract’s cutting-edge designs for the rapidly expanding EV market,” said Cymat CEO Michael Liik in a statement.

“The prominence of our material in Project Arrow along with the associated exposure to other key auto parts suppliers will undoubtedly open the door to further collaborations.”
