SANTIAGO, Chile—Stephen Harper wants to expand one of the country’s first international free-trade deals.
The free-trade deal the Liberal government signed with Chile 15 years ago and not as expansive as newer agreements the Conservatives have been signing.

Harper would like to bring the accord with Chile up to date, adding elements such as procurement and government services.
While in Santiago, Harper also hopes to get Chile’s support for Canada’s inclusion in the new Trans-Pacific Partnership.
The TPP is a proposed nine-country free-trade zone spanning the Pacific region.
