
Bombardier secures US$221 million electric train order in Germany

Purchase includes 35 Talent 2 trains as well as spare parts
BERLIN—Bombardier Transportation has won a US$221 million order to supply electric trains in Germany.
The German subsidiary of the British National Express Group ordered 35 Talent 2 trains for regional service.
In addition to the purchase price, the buyer will also buy spare parts.
A consortium of National Express and IntEgro Verkehr won a Europe-wide tender to operate two rail lines providing service in Bonn, Cologne, Wuppertal, Hagen Hamm, Munster and Rheine in December 2015
Bombardier will supply three- and five-car trains that can travel up to 160 km/h.
The air-conditioned trains will have first- and second-class seating.
Bombardier Transportation is the Berlin-based rail manufacturing division of Bombardier Inc. Together with its aerospace group, the Montreal-based company has about US$16.8 billion of annual revenues.
