Company estimates approximately 125 barrels of oil escaped at Rowatt Station along Line 67

REGINA—An Enbridge Inc. pipeline is back up and running after being shut down due to a leak at a pumping facility south of Regina.

Enbridge estimates approximately 125 barrels of oil escaped at Rowatt Station along Line 67 before the section was isolated early Jan. 18.

The company says in a news release that all the product was contained inside the site and that there was no impact to wildlife or waterways.

Line 67 is part of the Enbridge Mainline from Hardisty, Alta., to Superior, Wis., and transports 450,000 barrels of heavy oil per day.

Enbridge says that due to high winds, some spray landed on the snow of an adjacent farm field but has been picked up.

The line was restarted hours after the shutdown occurred.

Enbridge says the company and regulators are investigating the incident.
