HUNTSVILLE— Line-X Protective Coatings and private investment firm, Graham Partners, announced today they have assumed control of Tier One automotive aftermarket supplier Ground Effects Ltd.(GFX).

Based in Windsor, Ont., GFX designs and manufactures interior and exterior automotive accessories and provides upfit services to automotive OEMs.

Line-X, which manufactures polymer-based protective coatings and spray-on truck bedliners, says this new partnership will create new opportunities for Line-X and GFX to develop aftermarket services and establish support structures through Line-X’s network.

The company will provide additional details in the coming months.

“The acquisition of GFX puts our company and products directly in front of the greater automotive industry, but more importantly, allows us to offer additional services to our end customer,” said Kevin Heronimus, CEO of Line-X.

“Our 425 plus North American franchises and the automotive manufacturers will undoubtedly benefit from this new partnership, charting a new path for Line-X for years to come.”

GFX has six facilities in Windsor, Ont., one in Whitby, Ont., four locations in the US and one in China. The company currently services General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Toyota Motor Sales and the Chrysler Group, and its products are currently used in over 40 different vehicle platforms.
