VICTORIA — Harwood Custom Composites (HCC), a privately owned Canadian company located at the Victoria International Airport (YYJ), has hired Peter McLaughlin as its new CEO to lead the organization as it expands its services to try and meet the increasing demand for safe and reliable custom composite fabrication for aerospace industry partners. McLaughlin’s previous leadership experience includes reported turnarounds in profitability, production, and reputation for multiple organizations across Canada.

Founded in 1999 by Jon Harwood, HCC is a Certified Aboriginal Business and was named BC Aboriginal Business of the Year in 2014 (10+ person enterprise) by the BC Achievement Foundation.

As the new leader at HCC, McLaughlin is focused on building the brand. “Jon has given me the autonomy to guide the business in the right direction, building revenue, profitability, and new business while allowing him to focus his creativity on developing innovative solutions using traditional and modern tools and techniques,” explained McLaughlin.

“Instead of investing time to improve their weaknesses,” said McLaughlin, “I help them turn their strengths into superpowers. As they get better at doing what they’re already good at, the other skills improve: the rising tide lifts all ships.”

“We’ve spent the better part of twenty years building a fantastic team of professionals who love what we get to do every day,” said Jon Harwood, Founder and Owner of Harwood Custom Composites. “We are excited to have Peter take this role, helping our team improve and leading us into new opportunities with innovative services to equip the aerospace industry throughout the Pacific Northwest.”
