Federal government invests in lighting manufacturer in Mississauga, Ont.

Through this investment, TDG Transit Design Group will adopt new equipment at its newly expanded 10,000-square-foot facility to produce longer-lasting, weatherproof lighting technology and enter the aerospace, defence and security sectors.

MISSISSAUGA — On Feb. 23, Shafqat Ali, Member of Parliament for Brampton Centre, announced a FedDev Ontario investment of over $1.6 million for TDG Transit Design Group, a leading manufacturer and designer of made-in-Canada, energy-efficient LED lighting systems for the global rail transit industry.

Through this investment, TDG Transit Design Group will adopt new equipment at its newly expanded 10,000-square-foot facility to produce longer-lasting, weatherproof lighting technology and enter the aerospace, defence and security sectors. As a result, TDG Transit Design Group will be able to grow into global markets and help more businesses, organizations and transit operators reduce their energy consumption. In addition, they will create 22 highly skilled jobs across the region.

The Government of Canada is investing in their success so they can produce made-in-Canada solutions for a clean economy,” said Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.

Through investments, like the one today for TDG Transit Design Group, we are supporting local manufacturers that are leading the way to create a cleaner environment for generations, and create good paying jobs for our communities,” said Iqra Khalid, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Revenue and Member of Parliament for Mississauga—Erin Mills.
