BECC Modular is coming up with solutions to increase Canadian housing inventory.

ANCASTER — On Jan. 15, Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), along with Chad Collins, MP for Hamilton East–Stoney Creek; and Lisa Hepfner, MP for Hamilton Mountain, announced a $2.5-million investment towards the growth of BECC Modular, a manufacturing company providing turn-key modular homes for affordable housing projects and commercial properties.

BECC Modular is coming up with solutions to increase Canadian housing inventory. Through this investment, BECC will adopt more efficient steel frame manufacturing capabilities for modular home construction. As a result, the company is expected to produce up to 2,200 modular structures per year for single and multi-story buildings across Canada and abroad. In addition, this project will create 35 new, skilled jobs in the Hamilton region. This is one of the many ways the Government of Canada is working to increase the supply of attainable homes.

“Our government knows we need to act quickly to create more housing, support the middle class and build an economy that works for all Canadians. That is why we are investing in manufacturers, like BECC Modular, that are working hard to provide much needed solutions for quality affordable housing and create skilled jobs so Canadians can secure their futures and continue to grow,” said Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).
