VANCOUVER — Clarius Mobile Health, a manufacturer of wireless ultrasound solutions, hosted Mary Ng, Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade and Economic Development, at the company’s headquarters in Vancouver recently, where the Minister announced $3.4M in funding for Clarius. PacifiCan’s funding will help Clarius expand into the IndoPacific region and accelerate enterprise growth in the United States.

“We have seen through companies like Clarius that when we invest in their growth they anchor local benefits and good jobs here at home while making Canada a global leader in emerging technologies,” said Minister Ng. “Through our government’s investments, and Clarius’ participation in the Global Hypergrowth Project, we know that today’s announcement is just the beginning of many great things to come.”

Clarius says their devices are being used to improve patient care across many medical specialties including emergency medicine, pain management, and aesthetic dermatology. The company’s revenues have reportedly tripled over the past three years and its workforce in British Columbia has been growing in double digits annually to support its growth. Clarius recently moved into a new 22,000 square foot manufacturing facility, tripling its production capacity.

“We are delighted that the government of Canada has committed to grow our business in British Columbia with this funding and to help us fuel our global growth,” said Clarius President and CEO Ohad Arazi. “We’re grateful to have access to an excellent local talent pool for artificial intelligence, machine learning, bio-medical engineering and manufacturing that enables us to onshore our production and to keep our intellectual property in BC.”

Clarius was successful in an application process for PacifiCan’s Business Scale-Up and Productivity program, demonstrating alignment with the Agency’s priorities and significant economic benefit. Under the terms of the agreement, the company will be matching the interest-free funding amount, bringing the total international expansion project cost to $6.8 million. Clarius now sells in 58 countries and has been actively leveraging federal government programs and trade missions to drive its international expansion, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region.
