MONTREAL—RCMP investigators have executed a search warrant at the Montreal headquarters of Canadian engineering giant SNC-Lavalin.
The Montreal-based company said last month it planned to inform police and other authorities about the results of an internal investigation into US$56 million of payments that resulted in the resignation of its CEO.
SNC issued a statement Friday confirming the RCMP had exercised a search warrant. The company said it was co-operating with the RCMP investigation.
Former chief executive Pierre Duhaime stepped aside after a probe revealed he signed off on payments to undisclosed agents, breaching the company’s code of ethics.
The World Bank has temporarily suspended its Bangladesh subsidiary from bidding on new projects while it completes an investigation that prompted RCMP raids of Toronto-area offices last year.
