Ritchie Bros. sells over 10,000 items for over $99M in AB

Approximately 92 per cent of the equipment in the October 25 to 28 auction was sold to Canadians, including 61 per cent purchased by Albertans.

EDMONTON – Ritchie Bros. reports that it attracted more than 16,500 bidders to its fifth Edmonton auction this year to compete for more than 10,000 items, generating more than $99 million in gross transaction value.

Approximately 92 per cent of the equipment in the October 25 to 28 auction was sold to Canadians, including 61 per cent purchased by Albertans. The remaining 8 per cent was purchased by international buyers from as far away as Egypt, Poland, and Vietnam.

“We continue to drive strong global demand for equipment and trucks, resulting in a lot of happy consignors,” said Jacen Cowick, regional sales manager, Ritchie Bros, in a statement.

Equipment highlights in the October Edmonton auction included over 140 truck tractors, more than 85 excavators, over 60 skid steers, more than 60 dozers, and more than 25 pipelayers, and forestry equipment. Ritchie Bros. also reports that all items were sold without minimum bids or reserve prices.
