Cooper Equipment Rentals acquires EZE Rent-It and Stayner Rental

Cooper CEO Doug Dougherty said this acquisition brings the company closer to its goal of developing a cross-country rental service.

TORONTO — Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited has acquired Eze Rent-It Centre  in British Columbia and Stayner Rental in Ontario.

The equipment rental company has been operating out of Canada for more than 30 years with three locations in British Columbia. They have also announced that their co-owner, Russ Walsh, will be looking after the transition process which will take several months.

“Cooper Equipment Rentals shares the same core values as EZE and the Walsh family. We are so happy to have Cooper carry on our business where EZE has operated for 35 years. The future is bright for our team and the communities we operate in,” said Russ Walsh in a statement.

Paul and Edina Van Staveren established Stayner Rental in Stayner, ON, 33 years ago. Operating as a family business, Stayner has provided equipment services to Clearview Township, Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Simcoe County, Dufferin County, and Grey County.

“This is a great opportunity for our family, our staff and our customers,” said Paul Van Staveren in a statement.

“We feel the Cooper family will grow and transition our business and take it to the next level, creating greater opportunities for all.”

Cooper CEO Doug Dougherty spoke of plans to establish a national network of branches to fulfill equipment rental needs across the country. Dougherty said in a company statement that these recent acquisitions bring the company closer to this goal.
