BDC offers another $300M in commercial loans for Atlantic provinces
Funding focus is on agri-food, including fisheries, ocean technology, tourism, and information and communication technologies
ST. JOHN’S, N.L.—The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) says it plans to provide an additional $300 million in commercial loans over the next two years to support business growth in the Atlantic provinces.
The bank says the funding is in addition to the $280 million package it announced in 2017.
Gina Gale, BDC’s senior vice-president – Atlantic, says the success of the first part of the program prompted the new funding.
BDC’s Atlantic funding supports commercially viable companies that are looking to grow, including acquisitions, change-of-ownership and investment in exporting.
The focus is on agri-food, including fisheries, ocean technology, tourism, and information and communication technologies.
