Plans to double capacity at its Ville St. Laurent, Que., facility

MONTREAL—A Quebec-based eyewear firm has announced plans to expand its Montreal area lens laboratory, warehouse and distribution centre by the end of the year.

New Look Eyewear Inc. says it acquired the commercial building in Ville St. Laurent, Que., housing its state-of-the-art facilities and now plans to double its capacity.

“During 2012, New Look acquired ownership of the commercial building housing its state-of-the-art laboratory, warehouse and distribution centre and thereby acquired additional space,” New Look president Martial Gagné said in a statement. “With this additional space, we are upgrading our supply capability and capacity to meet the needs of an expanding network of stores

The company has 76 stores in Quebec and Ontario, two affiliated clinics and its own lens laboratory, the first eyewear network in Canada with its own transformation lab.
