The Montreal-based auto parts and paints distributor now owns more than 3,900 shops in Canada

BOUCHERVILLE, Que.—Autoparts distributor Uni-Select is strengthening its Canadian corporate store network by adding eight locations in Quebec for an undisclosed price.

The Montreal-area company said it has completed the acquisition of Pieces d’autos M.A.G. Inc., a former member of a rival automotive parts distributor that operates in Sherbrooke, Que.

It has also entered into an agreement to purchase Jean Talon Auto Parts Ltd., which operates six locations in Montreal, and Centre de Pieces Gagnon, which has a single location in Montreal.

Financial details of the transactions, which are expected to close within 60 days, were not disclosed.

Uni-Select distributes automotive paint products across North America and has an aftermarket parts business with more than 3,900 shops in Canada.
