Automaker will issue BlackBerry Z10 touchscreen devices running BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10
WATERLOO, Ont.—French automaker PSA Peugeot Citroen is deploying 10,000 BlackBerry smartphones running the device maker’s latest business software to employees in France and Spain.
According to the Waterloo, Ont.-based firm, the automaker will issue BlackBerry’s Z10 touchscreen devices running its BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 (BES10).
“This significant investment by PSA Peugeot Citroen demonstrates the value and benefits that BES10 with BlackBerry 10 smartphones brings to enterprise customers,” Herve Liboureau, BlackBerry’s managing director for central and western Europe, said in a release.
“BES10 was chosen for its complete end-to-end security, simplified integration with existing IT systems, and numerous enterprise applications.”
Despite BlackBerry’s struggles to regain control of the global enterprise market it once dominated, its devices are still proving popular in France.
According to statistics provided by BlackBerry, more than 60 per cent of the CAC 40 companies—the firms with the most significant values among the 100 highest market caps on the Paris Bourse—have ordered, downloaded or installed BES10.
