Com-Dev nabs $11 million satellite contracts

CAMBRIDGE, Ont—COM DEV International Ltd. was won $11-million in contracts to provide hardware for commercial and military communications satellites.

An additional Authorization to Proceed is expected to lead to a fully-funded $3-million contract, bringing the total value to more than $14 million.

COM DEV will provide switches, multiplexer assemblies and other passive microwave equipment for the satellites. Work will be carried out at facilities in Cambridge, Ont. and El Segundo, Calif. over the next 18 months.

COM DEV International Ltd. makes subsystems and microsatellites for major satellite prime contractors, government agencies and satellite operators, for use in communications, space science, remote sensing and defense applications. It has facilities in Canada, the U.K. and the U.S.
