Record 13 Canadian firms make Global Cleantech 100
Companies headquartered from Halifax to Vancouver have been listed as among the world's most innovative
SAN FRANCISCO—More than a dozen Canadian companies have been singled out as being among the most innovative and promising cleantech companies on the planet.
The U.S.-based Cleantech Group released its ninth-annual Global Cleantech 100 listing Jan. 23.
13 Canadian companies made the cut, topping the 11 included in last year’s ranking for the all-time Canadian record. With technology focused on smart grids, water and wastewater and biofuels, among others, the companies are based across the country from Halifax to Vancouver.
Export Development Canada, which works with seven of the 13 on the list, noted that Canadian cleantech businesses are “punching well above their weight.”

- Awesense Wireless Inc.
- Axine Water Technologies
- ecobee Inc.
- Enbala Power Networks Inc.
- Farmers Edge
- GaN Systems
- MineSense Technologies Ltd.
- Opus One Solutions
- Saltworks Technologies
Meanwhile, three other Canadian firms—GeoDigital International Inc., Pyrowave Inc. and Vizimax Inc.—earned places on the Global Cleantech 100 Ones to Watch list.
