Entran focuses on aviation, bridge and road design, traffic engineering and transportation planning

EDMONTON—Stantec has signed an agreement to purchase Kentucky-based transportation consulting firm Entran.

The Edmonton-based engineering company says it signed a letter of intent for Entran, which has a staff of 115 people.

Entran focuses on aviation, bridge and roadway design, traffic engineering and transportation planning.

The company’s clients include a slate of federal, state and municipal agencies, including departments of transportation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Lexington,Ky.-based Entran has offices in Chicago, Ill., Cincinnati, Ohio, Charleston, W. Va., and Nashville, Tenn.

Stantec has been on a shopping spree this year, scooping up FSC Architects & Engineers, based in Yellowknife, for an undisclosed amount earlier this month.

In July, the company acquired Minnesota-based engineering and environmental science firm Bonestroo Inc.
