D.J. Knoll is an asset-based transportation provider in White City, Sask.

MISSISSAUGA, Ont.—Canada Cartage has completed its acquisition of White City, Sask.-based transportation provider D.J. Knoll Transport Ltd.

D.J. Knoll is an asset-based transportation provider that specializes in hauling dry bulk freight, liquid bulk freight, truck-load and Less-than-truckload dry freight.

“This acquisition not only increases our scale of operations in Saskatchewan, but also gives us strategic entry into the dry bulk and liquid tanker markets,” adds Canada Cartage vice-president and general manager for Manitoba-Saskatchewan, Dave Tardi. “We see excellent growth opportunities in the grain, fertilizer and other commodity markets in Western Canada.”

With approximately 100 staff and drivers, D.J. Knoll was named as one of North America’s “Best Fleets to Drive For” in both 2012 and 2014 by the Truckload Carriers Association and CarriersEdge. The firm was also named one of PROFIT’s “500 Fastest Growing Companies in Canada” in 2013. D.J. Knoll will continue operations under the D.J. Knoll name and banner.
