Firefighters use crane to rescue worker after he was pinned by concrete slab

HAMILTON—A man has been airlifted hospital after he was trapped under a slab of concrete at a dam in Hamilton.

Police say the 64-year-old Brantford man was pinned when a large cement beam fell on him at about 11 a.m. July 21.

Police say firefighters rescued the man using a crane, and a representative from Air Ornge says the rescue effort took a couple of hours.

Air Ornge says the man was airlifted to hospital in serious condition with “significant” injuries early in the afternoon.
