Allen Vanguard building protective suits in five-year deal with government
PEMBROKE, Ont.—A protective equipment and services provider in Pembroke, Ontario has landed a $7.5-million contract with the Canadian military.
Allen Vanguard will build heavy bomb suits for the Canadian Forces through a five-year contract that’s expected to create 50 jobs in the region.
The 94 complete Med-Eng bomb suits will come with chemical and respiratory protection and cooling to mitigate heat stress in missions.
Most of the manufacturing will be done at Allen Vanguard’s Pembroke facility.
