H&M Canada will make an in-kind donation of $300,000 worth of product to Women’s Shelters Canada.
The clothing retailer says with domestic violence increasing significantly due to the “stay home” restrictions of COVID-19, this donation will help a group of individuals who are vulnerable to the current pandemic.
The product donation will include a mix of clothing for women and children ranging in sizes.
In addition to these efforts, H&M Canada says its parent company has taken actions in the previous weeks to help aid in the fight against COVID-19 around the world.
In March, H&M Group began quickly arranging for its supply chain to produce personal protective equipment to be provided to hospitals and health care workers.
Also, H&M Foundation made a $500,000 donation to the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
