The decision was made to help flatten the curve of COVID-19
To help flatten the curve of the spread of COVID-19, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) announced on March 27 that plants across the U.S. and Canada, including headquarters operations and construction projects, will remain closed until April 14.
The Mopar Parts Distribution Centers – which have been deemed essential to keep first responders and commercial vehicles on the road – will continue to operate with paid volunteers.
The automaker said in a statement that it will continue to work with the UAW and Unifor to expand the program of cleaning and social distancing protocols.
