Vancouver bus maker Grande West wins $6M order from three Quebec cities
After locking in its first order from the province, the mid-size bus manufacturer said Quebec transit agencies "right sizing" their fleets is a major opportunity
VANCOUVER—Grande West Transportation Group Inc. has secured its first public transit order in Quebec.
The Vancouver-based company that makes mid-size transit buses said it has signed a new 15-bus contract with transit agencies in Saguenay, Lévis and Trois-Rivières, Que..
The deal is worth about $6 million and all 15 of the buses are scheduled to be delivered next year, the company said Dec. 11.
“We believe there is huge potential for ‘right sizing’ of public transit fleets in the province of Quebec after many decades of buying mostly larger 40-foot buses,” Jean-Marc Landry, the company’s vice-president of Business Development, said in a statement.
With the new order, Grande West said its current backlog totals 294 buses.
