
Trican Well Service headed to Australia

Calgary-based oil and gas equipment firm makes acquisition to enter Australian shale gas market
CALGARY—Trican Well Service Ltd. has purchased Viking Energy Pty Ltd. and its subsidiaries, a Brisbane, Aus.-based cement and environmental services company.
Viking energy operates four cement pumpers, ancillary equipment and fluid logistics equipment.
The acquisition exposes Trican to the growing Australian market to introduce its cementing, coiled tubing and well stimulation products.
The two companies plan to provide specialized pressure pumping solutions and increase production from their wells.
Trican has operations in Canada, Russia, the U.S., Saudi Arabia, and North Africa, providing specialized products, equipment and services used during the exploration and development of oil and gas reserves.
