TransForm Automotive invests $15M to expand London, Ont. plant

LONDON, Ont.—TransForm Automotive Canada Ltd. is adding fresh capacity to Ontario auto parts plant.

The company, which makes precision engine and powertrain components, plans to expand its London, Ont. site by 9,000 sq. ft. as well as buy new equipment.

TransForm, a subsidiary of Chicago-based Amsted Industries, expects the project to help it win new contracts. The expansion will also create 15 new jobs at the plant, which currently employs 74.

The company will invest approximately $15 million in the project, while the Ontario government has agreed to invest $500,000 through the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund.

The auto parts firm expects to wrap up work on the scale-up project by 2020.
