Transportation Minister Jeff Yurek says the deal will allow the province to build new transit at no cost to taxpayers

TORONTO – The Ontario government will partner with a private company to build a new GO Transit station at the Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto.

Woodbine Entertainment – which owns the current racetrack and casino complex – will pay for the design and development of the new GO station, which will be on a rail line connecting Toronto and Kitchener.

The company estimates the project will cost between $75 million and $90 million and could not immediately give a date for its completion.

Transportation Minister Jeff Yurek says the deal will allow the province to build new transit at no cost to taxpayers.
