Company to expand southwest Ontario plant, invest in new equipment

KITCHENER, Ont.—The Ontario government is committing $400,000 to help an Ontario plastics company expand its Kitchener, Ont. plant.

Ampacet Corp., which produces colour masterbatches for the packaging industry, plans to use the investment to expand the square footage of its plant as well as to buy new equipment.

“We are delighted to continue our expansion in Kitchener,” Robert Fielding, the company’s senior vice-president and general manager for North America, said. “This support from the Ontario government complements our ongoing growth strategy.”

“The project will give us the expanded space to increase production and the talent to develop and produce new innovative products that will help us compete and succeed globally,” Fielding added.

The investment is expected to create 15 new jobs at the facility and increase to plant’s production capacity. The additive concentrates Ampacet manufactures reach customers in more than 90 countries,
