Using $300,000 investment from the provincial government, company plans to add floor space, new equipment and create 10 new jobs

COLBORNE, Ont.—Cam Tran Co., an electrical transformer manufacturer and refurbisher based just east of Toronto, is working to scale up with a $3 million expansion project.

The Colborne, Ont. company is adding 25,000 square-feet of floor space to its production facility as well as purchasing advanced transformer winding and metal fabrication equipment, which will allow it to work on larger transformers.

“With this investment, Cam Tran further enhances our product range to offer even greater flexibility to meet our customers’ needs,” Kyle Campbell, the company’s president, said. “Today’s announcement represents the latest chapter in the continual evolution of our Colborne-based team in defining industry standards for quality, service and lead times.”

The company hopes the investment will help it pull in new work from customers in both the industrial and commercial space, particularly in the oil and gas and renewable energy industries.
