New Flyer wins 40-bus order with private transport firm Transdev

New buses to shuttle students at North Carolina State University in Raleigh
WINNIPEG—New Flyer Industries Inc. has won a contract to build up to 47 buses for private transport company Transdev.
Awarded to the Canadian company’s U.S. subsidiary, the deal includes a firm order for 40 40-foot Xcelsior clean diesel buses, as well as options for seven additional buses.
Based in France with operations in 19 countries, Transdev will use the buses to provide transportation for students at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C. New Flyer said some of the buses will replace the campus’ aging fleet and are expected to enter service in August 2017.
The Winnipeg bus maker did not release the value of the contract.
