MDA sells two ground stations to satellite firm

MDA will provide new ground station solutions that receive and process satellite imagery and data
RICHMOND, B.C.—MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA) has been awarded two contracts from DigitalGlobe Inc. with a total value the company describes as “several million dollars.”
MDA will provide new ground station solutions that receive and process imagery and data from DigitalGlobe’s satellite constellation. They are also configurable to receive and process data from the RADARSAT-2 Synthetic Aperture Radar satellite, enabling future integration of electro-optical and radar imagery capabilities.
Norman Hannaford, the general manager responsible for the ground station business said, “These contracts reinforce MDA’s position of delivering operational ground system solutions for the world’s most advanced remote sensing satellites.”
