TORONTO — Macrodyne Technologies Inc., a hydraulic press manufacturer, announced the acquisition of Dunkes GmbH, a German press manufacturer with experience in metal forming, straightening and joining technologies.

Macrodyne has been supplying worldwide locations with customized hydraulic presses, press lines, and die handling equipment since 1990 from their manufacturing facility in Canada. In Europe, Dunkes began its business in 1960 with pneumatic assembly and riveting presses.

The acquisition of Dunkes adds those competencies to Macrodyne’s portfolio, along with increasing its European manufacturing capabilities and services.

“Dunkes is a perfect fit to join the Macrodyne family of companies,” said Kevin Fernandes, president, and CEO for Macrodyne Technologies. “Their strong customer-focused culture, top-end technologies, and world-class customer base in Europe help both parties in terms of our international expansion plans”.

Together, the combined company plans to offer expertise in an extensive portfolio of hydraulic presses for a variety of applications, with pressing equipment ranging from 10 to 30,000 Tons.

“We decided to have Dunkes grow through an acquisition because we believe that a larger organization will allow us to provide a wider array of products and more depth in specific markets,” said Rico Heinz, Dunkes GmbH CEO. “Macrodyne shares the same values we do. They exceeded our expectations for a company we can combine with. This new relationship will continue and improve the tradition we have for excellent service, and deep expertise that has created an environment our customers want to be a part of.”, complemented Heinz.

As part of Macrodyne Technologies Inc., Dunkes will do business as Dunkes – A Macrodyne Company. Existing customers from the combined companies will have access to the full portfolio of products and services from across Macrodyne and Dunkes.
