LONDON, Ont.—Aluminum castings maker Ramsden Industries Ltd. has launched a $6.1 million, three-year expansion project at its two adjacent plants in London, Ont.

Using a $611,000 investment from the province of Ontario, as well as private funds, the company will buy new casting and finishing equipment, helping it to boost its automation and output.

“The investment in advanced manufacturing technologies will enable us to improve production methods and provide premium products and services to some of the leading manufacturers in the world,” Andrew Ramsden, general manager at Ramsden Industries, said. “The backing from the Government of Ontario will help Ramsden to fulfill new contracts with those industry leaders and support future growth.”

Ramsden expects the project to create 14 new jobs and link production between its two plants more closely.
