Ontario to invest $136,700 in expansion project that will create 12 jobs

TORONTO—Havelock Metal Co. is building up its operations with a $1.1 million investment in new specialized equipment.

The Peterborough, Ont.-area company, which manufactures metal siding and roofing for a range of buildings from houses to farms, plans to create 12 full-time jobs with the project.

To support the expansion, the government of Ontario is investing $136,700 through the Eastern Ontario Development Fund.

“I’m excited to support Havelock Metal’s expansion plans,” Brad Duguid, the province’s Minister of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure, said. “This investment from the province will help this Ontario business broaden production, increase its workforce and in turn make investments of its own in the local economy. Creating the conditions where more businesses choose Ontario over other markets is a top priority of this government. We celebrate this local success.”
