TORONTO—General Motors will invest more than $450 million at its CAMI assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ont., according to The Globe and Mail.

The CAMI plant makes Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain crossover utility vehicles and the investment would secure about 3,000 jobs, according to the newspaper.

Sources say General Motors will make the investment without financial help from either the federal or Ontario governments, which helped bail out the company during the last major downturn.

GM Canada is scheduled to announce the investment today at the Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto.
