Etratech launching $2M expansion at Burlington, Ont. plant

Firm moving to Surface-Mount Technology for electronic circuit production
BURLINGTON, Ont.—Ontario manufacturer Etratech Enterprises Inc. is scaling up with a $2 million investment in its Toronto-area plant.
The company, which makes electronic controls and control systems for OEMs in the automotive industry, as well as for a range of other segments, plans to buy specialized new equipment that will help it boost productivity. Under the project, Etratech will upgrade to Surface-Mount Technology for producing electric circuits and establish a new component traceability system.
FedDev Ontario will contribute $500,000 to the project, which it said will help strengthen the province’s auto supply chain.
The project will create 25 new jobs in Burlington.
