MONTREAL — Etalex, a company specializing in commercial furnishing and industrial rackings, is pursuing growth by investing $16 million to try and increase and optimize its production. The company, based in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville and Anjou, is trying to double its sales in five years and significantly bolster its sales outside Québec. Etalex is the result of the recent merger of Etalex, Équipement Boni and Forma Fil, and has over 480 employees.
Etalex’s clients already include retailers in the food, hardware and drugstore sectors, as well as numerous distribution centers.
With the $16M investment, Etalex is aiming to accelerate the robotization of its production, which has been underway since 2004. This vision has reportedly already enabled Etalex to better address the labour shortage and to gain reported advantages, at a time when the price of steel and the raw material used for racking is reaching new heights.
- Investments amounting to nearly $7 million will allow the company to modernize its facilities and double the production of shelves for groceries, pet stores, drug stores, hardware stores and other types of retail stores. These investments will also allow the relocation of the lattice and grid production site to a new facility in Anjou, doubling the production of this product line. The new site reportedly has more than 120,000 square feet of space.
- The plant dedicated to systems for warehouses and distribution centers remains in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, where investments of $9 million are also planned.
“Our state-of-the-art facilities will allow us to double our sales in five years. The merger of three companies under a single name, combined with major investments, will enable us to better meet the growing needs of our customers both here and outside Québec. More than ever, our company is positioning itself as a leader in commercial furnishing and industrial racking. We are proud of the expertise developed by our team.” said Jean Piuze, President of Etalex.
