The number of multirole unmanned aerial drones used by armed forces in the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere is expected is expected to quadruple in the next few years.

The number of multirole unmanned aerial drones used by armed forces in the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere  is expected to quadruple in the next few years.

The New York Times reports there are now about 7,000 drones in its inventory, compared with fewer than 50 a decade ago.
